Our 1st Heritage Days was a trememdous success with over 1200 students invited from several school districts in attendance on Friday, which was designated "Kids' Day" and 500-600 visitors on Saturday. Spinning wheels, lye soap making, vintage clothing, an outdoor school class and an Indian encampment were featured as well as barbershop quartet music and dramatic skits presented by area drama students. Various vendors offered quality merchandise for sale along with the tours of the various buildings and the Old Jail Museum. Those who preferred to dress in costume surely lent to the spirit of the festivities in turning Old Town into a fun and educational place to visit. There will be plans to repeat the event. Volunteers, demonstrators and vendors needed.
