June 1917  --  The Post Office relocates from Old Town to a room within the new courthouse. San Jacinto News Times, June 8, 1917

In 1917, United States enters World War I and Courthouse Square becomes the rallying place for departing soldiers, relatives and friends.

September 1919  --  County invites public to the celebration of the opening of the new Coldspring School in the district courtroom.  San Jacinto News Times, retrospective issue, June 28, 1951

January 1924  --  The Ladies Auxilliary of the Baptist Church holds its Christmas Bazaar in the courthouse.  San Jacinto News Times January 11, 1924

April 9, 1925  --  The school play "Southern Cinderella" is performed in the new courthouse auditorium.  San Jacinto News Times April 3, 1925

May, 1926  --  "Fair Weather Friends" program is held at court house.  San Jacinto News Times May 7, 1926.

September 27, 1927  --  Commissioners' Court temporarily allows Coldspring Independent School District to use a west room of the Courthouse for educational purposes. San Jacinto County Commissioners' Court Minutes September 27, 1929, Vol 1 page 99.

January 30, 1935  --  President Birthday Ball is held in courthouse.  San Jacinto News Times January 1935, Vol. 24 Number 26

April 13, 1935  --  Commissioners' Court grants the County Fair Committee permission to use the District Court Room, courtyard and all courthouse rooms not in use. San Jacinto County Commissioners'  Court Minutes April 13, 1935, Vol. 1 page 489

Throughout the years, the courthouse rotunda has been the site of many retirement receptions, etc.

1992  --  Governor Ann Richards is Grand Marshal of  "Christmas on the Square" parade in Coldspring and is received in the courthouse and courthouse annex.

October 21, 2001  -- San Jacinto County Courthouse receives Texas Historical Commission marker in dedication ceremony.
